2022 Pilcrow Glass Rock - 3 Bottles
This vineyard is undeniably the beating heart of the Coombsville area, complete with cold, wind-swept slopes and porous volcanics that run the gamut from iron-red, lava rocks to black obsidian. Mixing this terroir with our farming and winemaking approach gives us a wine that is red-fruited; strawberry, cranberry, and glacier cherry dotted with a savory, salty, sea-spray intensity. Singular. Unconventional beauty. That's why this is our "Bette Davis" wine.

“I will never forget sitting in the kitchen with Holly and Elliott and talking about the potential that I saw in Glass Rock Ranch. About how with great care and absolute intention we could coax out of their Xanadu a very special wine. I remember telling them that it would be hard (and costly!) but at the end of the day they would have a vineyard that made them proud…and that I would have magical grapes for making wine…and that if we did this together it would be one hell of a ride. I sat for a moment not knowing if they were convinced. They responded with one, overwhelming and overriding sentiment that has driven us all, ever since: LET’S F*ING GO! I couldn’t ask for better partners.” — Jonah
Inspiration
Al and Boots Brounstein took the concept of terroir in Cabernet Sauvignon and showed the world that vineyards didn’t have to be miles apart to reveal a unique personality. They could be, quite literally, next to one another…and yet…as long as they had their special sense of place they would be singular.
